Episode 8: To Sunscreen Or Not To Sunscreen, That Is the Question

Updated: Feb 7, 2020

Cheers to sunscreen! Did you know that if you aren't applying a shot glass amount of sunscreen to your skin, you aren't getting the full SPF coverage that is listed?!

According to American Academy of Dermatology, 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. Intermittent sun exposure in childhood and during a lifetime is associated with an increased risk of skin cancer. Experiencing 1 blistering sunburn during childhood or adolescence can nearly double a person's chance of developing melanoma.

Sunscreen use can help prevent skin cancer by protecting you from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays.

In this episode, Dr Mary & Dr Rina discuss everything you need to know about sunscreen, including recent reports on sunscreen absorption.
